Rialto

An exercise in formal purification in which the Art Deco style has been taken as a reference, being reinterpreted from a contemporary point of view that follows the canons of Scandinavian design.

A wooden tray seems to be held in balance by a thin metal rod that descends to form a curve at the bottom. The legs, rounded at the bottom and top, curve to contact the central part of the stand’s foot. This added to the hidden welding points causes an interesting effect of weightlessness, with the pieces appearing to hold together just by contacting each other.
